- Release dates :
The Netherlands - July 8, 1949 (1st dubbing)
Even though the dubbing was only released in theaters in 1949, it was dubbed back in 1946.
The Netherlands - April 1995 (2nd dubbing) - The first Dutch dubbing was made in three weeks.
- At the time, since the Netherlands didn't have the Technicolor process, the Dutch audio track, once done, had to be returned to the United States to add the track alongside the colored-image strip.
Source : De Gooi van Zaterdag - April 9, 1949 - It was Frits Waterman's piano teacher who established contact with the dubbing studio to present his pupil for the role.
- It took Frits Waterman three days to complete his dubbing parts. He said in an interview he had the English version in his headphones, and had to answer his text in Dutch. He found the experience not very difficult, but on the opposite very "pleasant and exciting". "I knew the song I had to sing after two times. I would have liked to do it a bit like in the American film, but Mr. Cruys Voorbergh wanted me to sing like an ordinary Dutch boy", he said in an interview published in Het Parool.
