Germany - November 13, 1981 - The movie had first been promoted under the title "Cap und Capper - Zwei Freunde auf acht Pfoten", before being simply known as "Cap und Capper".
- According to Das Disney Synchron Archiv, but also evidenced by the 1981 Cassette cast, Vixey was originally named "Vixie" in German, to match the English's pronunciation. But after the release of the movie in theaters, it has been thought that the pronunciation in German of the name was too close to a dirty German word; therefore, before the 1995 VHS release, Thomas Danneberg (Adult Tod) and Randolf Kronberg (Adult Copper) had to come back and record some lines again, as the character had now been renamed "Trixie".
However, for the 2001 DVD release, because of an archive error, the original version was released again.
The 1995 modifications is now the dubbing used on Disney+.
