The new choir performed that final song again in 1998 as the lyrics, just like the main song, were partly changed. The title remained the same in both versions.

Brazil - November 30, 1990 (São Paulo & Rio de Janeiro Premiere)
Brazil - December 21, 1990 (1st Brazilian dubbing)
Brazil - January 16, 1998 (1st Brazilian dubbing with 1998 modifications) - The 1990 version with the 1998 modifications is today the official Brazilian version of the movie.
- It's still unknown to this date why Brazil used a totally different voice for Vanessa (Ursula's human form using Ariel's voice).
- In the first version, the final line of the song "Fathoms Below" wasn't dubbed and just left in instrumental. That difference was corrected in 1998 when the new choir performed the song.
- Marcelo Coutinho, the Musical director in 1998, explained in an interview that the partial redubbing was ordered by Disney following the lack of energy in Gabriela's voice (Ariel's singing voice) and the lack of feelings and energy from the choir. It explains why the choir songs and Ariel's songs were redubbed. However, while André Filho performed again the song "Under the Sea" with the new choir in 1997, the song "Kiss the Girl" was left untouched, with the 1990 choir and André's original performance.
- While the movie now countains the 1998 version of "Under the Sea", with the new performance of André Filho and the new choir, it's the 1989 version of the song that can be heard on the 2006 Soundtrack.
- There's been two mixing mistakes made, first in 1998, then in 2006, in the song "Poor Unfortunate Souls" :
In 1998, the final line ["This poor unfortunate souls", just before the magic formula], with the original Brazilian lyrics "Ganhei o que eu queria" - the "Ga" syllable was cut out.
Then, in 2006, the line "Keep singing" ["Continue cantando" in Brazilian Portuguese] during Ariel's voice was also cut out.
Those two errors weren't fixed in the 2013 DVD/BLU-RAY release. - Gabriela was just 15 years-old when she sang for Ariel. She quit the musical world soon after, in 1992, as she didn't enjoy it anymore.
- Kiara Sasso, as for her, was just 18 years-old when she lent her singing voice to the character.
- Famous singer Emílio Santiago was in the competition to be Sebastian's voice, a role eventually won by voice actor André Filho.
Source : "O Fluminense" January 4, 1995 - Joaquim "Luis" Motta, the voice of King Triton, was credited as Luiz Motta.
- Luiz Guilherme D'Orey, the sound engineer of the songs in the partial redubbing (1998), was credited as L. G. d'Orey.
