  • Release dates :
    Austria - October 17, 1990 (1st German dubbing)
    Germany - November 29, 1990 (1st dubbing)
    Germany - July 9, 1998 (2nd dubbing)
    Austria - July 10, 1998 (Austrian dubbing)
  • In the first dubbing, the song "Fathoms Below" wasn't given an offiical German title. Its title was left in English.
  • In the 1998 dubbing, for unknown reasons, Naomi van Dooren, the singing voice of Ariel in that dubbing, doesn't sing for Vanessa; instead, they used the Austrian version.
  • *The Austrian dubbing is not a full dubbing. Not only they used the translation and lyrics of the second German dubbing, they also re-used some of its voices : Ursula's, Sebastian's, Flotsam & Jetsam's, Louis' and the Sea Horse's.
  • Rumors have spread about singer Jazz Gitti dubbing Ursula in the Austrian dubbing for the cinema release, while she would have been replaced in the VHS by the German 1998 version. However, this has been proven wrong by Jazz Gitti herself, stating she never dubbed Ursula (2019).
  • Germany released both 1990 and 1998 dubbings on the 2013 DVD/BLU-RAY editions.
  • Rotraut Ziffer, the voice of Carlotta in the Austrian version, was miscredited as Rotraud Ziffer.
  • Bernhard Murg (additional voice - Austrian version), was miscredited as Bernard Murg.
