  • The Arabic dubbing of this movie was done in a period of 9 days. A representative from Disney visited the dubbing studio to inform them of the urgent need to have the film’s dub started and finished in one week’s time. She claimed the movie had been added to the list of movies to be dubbed, but they must have forgotten to be sent at the time. The director, Isam Al-Sayyed (عصام السيد), estimated that he can get the dub finished in 9 days and refused the insistence on getting it done in 7 days.
He carried out the casting process for Peter Pan while working on another dubbing. He worked on the dub 10 hours every day, from 2 pm till midnight. A second sound engineer would stay until morning to mix the parts recorded during the day, to be assessed by the director in the afternoon of the following day.
However, on the 9th and last day, the assistant director discovered that a part of the script, equivalent to 12 minutes of screen time, had not been printed. Parts of the movie were still not dubbed yet. At the same time, the representative from Disney had arrived at the studio to receive the dub before her flight in the dawn of the next day.
A final schedule was set, and luckily the missing parts did not include many characters. As the allotted ten hours were about to be over, it was suggested to have the dub sent as it is and have the remaining issues fixed after the first result is reviewed. However, the director was not used to having his work negatively reviewed and therefore insisted on finishing it that night. The dubbing was finished at 3 am, at which time the representative took it and traveled to the USA to deliver it herself.
Two weeks later, the representative was back in the studio and she shared that the dubbing received no criticism.
It turns out that Disney administration in Cairo was starting to look for cheaper studios at that time, and had sent Peter Pan to another studio at first. When they saw that the result was not good enough, they sent it back to Eko Sound and wanted it finished on time.
