  • Release dates :
    Egypt - 1975
    TV dub - July 20, 2015
  • When the Walt Disney Company first decided to come across the Middle East with their classic full-length movies, they decided to dub those movies in Egypt with the Egyptian dialect because Egypt was considered as the Arabic Hollywood of the Middle East, and they started with Walt Disney's classic film "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" in 1975.
  • Though the movie is dubbed in Egyptian Arabic, the Queen speaks in Standard / Classical Arabic, as well as all people talking to her. This way, the Queen sounds more formal, serious and solemn.
  • Ratiba El-Hefny, the singing voice of Snow White, was chosen by Disney to be the first song director in the history of Walt Disney's Arabian dubbings. Lots of girls were refused by Disney for the role of Snow White, so Ratiba El-Hefni then decided to record herself and send it to the Walt Disney Company under a nickname.
And to the surprise, Disney liked it and chose her. She was 44 years-old at the time. Ratiba Al-Hefni didn’t want her real name to be written on the movie's opening credits, she asked for a nickname to be shown. However, some years later she told her friends the truth about her participation as Snow White.
  • The TV dubbing was produced to dub the movie in Modern Standard Arabic. All marks of affection, love and magic were censored by TV channel JeemTV.
