The first dubbing was recorded in May-June 1938. There wasn't a general national cinema release of the movie in Brazil, it was released on different dates in the different states, in selected theaters. The last release was in Goiás.

Three movies were dubbed in the 1930s in Brazilian, but they were dubbed in the US for Americans and Brazilians residing there. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was the first movie to be dubbed in Brazilian, in Brazil, for Brazilian people.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was first presented in Brazil on February 16, 1938 in the ship SS Normandic (when he was docked in Rio) to the RKO directors and employees from Brazil, Argentina and Latin America, in English version, in the projection room of the ship. They agreed to make a version of the movie in their languages. The 35mm copy of the movie was sent to New York and then shipped on the ship that was coming for the first time in Brazil.
Snow White's voice was the most difficult to be found; all Radio voices and actresses of the time auditionned for the role.
Both Dalva de Oliveira and Maria Clara Tati Jacome traveled to Europe to attend the Premiere of the movie in Lisbon, Portugal, at the Teatro Politeama.
Dalva de Oliveira died in 1972, at 55 years-old, of hemorrhage due to esophageal cancer.
In the 1965 dubbing, the name of João Alberto Persson was wrongly written as "Perssom"; while Lourdes Mayer was credited as "Meyer". Joaquim "Luís" Motta, for his part, was credited as Luiz Motta.
Maria Alice Barreto, the speaking voice in the second dubbing, would sing for Snow White at first; but her singing style (Bossa Nova) was too different from the character's songs style.
Due to the evolution of the Portuguese language, Sleepy was named Somneca in the first dubbing, and Soneca in the second one. However, the old spelling can be seen on the 2001 DVD and VHS editions, on the dwarf's bed, even though the 1965 dubbing is used in this edition. The Queen's spell book scenes have the new spelling in both 1994 and 2001 editions, except for one shot about Love's First Kiss (picture 4), where the words 'Somno' (now Sono) and 'Victima' (now Vítima) were kept with the old spelling :
