France - October 26, 2000 - To find Melody's French voice, a huge public contest has been made by Disney France. Thousands of girls took their chance and sent recordings. Eventually, the winner was Nathalie Fauran, then aged of 15 years old.
- This was one of the last work of Jean Davy, the voice of King Triton: he would die the year after, in 2001.
- Almost all the cast of the 1998 redub of the first movie returned here. But in 2006, when the first dubbing of the first movie was restored on DVDs, Henri Salvador was brought back to redub Sebastian's part, in a idea of prolongation of the voices, but that's the only voice who was brought back weirdly - his fame was certainly the only reason.
