  • Release dates :
    Sweden - February 3, 1941 (1st dubbing) (Cinema)
This dubbing has been shown in theaters until 1978; and was released on rental video on December 1987.
    Sweden - October 18, 1995 (2nd dubbing) (VHS)
  • While the Aftonbladet's article from 1941 mentions singer Sven-Olof Sandberg for Jiminy Cricket's singing voice in the first dubbing, another article of the same paper from 1987 about the rental VHS mentions singer Gösta Winge for the singing. [If anyone has more information to clarify that, please use the contact section.]
  • Inga Tidblad and Håkan Westergren, respectively the voices of Pinocchio and Lampwick in the first Swedish dubbing, were married in real life.
  • When Pinocchio came out in 1941, the newspaper "Aftonbladet" held a competition about guessing what swedish actors dubbed the film, since the cast was not yet credited.
39 letters were sent in to the newspaper and Per-Axel Branner, the Dubbing director, went over there himself. Only one woman got the whole cast right and got 75 kr as reward.
However, according to Per-Axel Branner most people had got almost the whole cast correct except for Pinocchio's voice. Almost everyone thought that Alice Babs was the voice of Pinocchio!

  • Anita Halldén, credited under her pseudonym "S.S. Wilson" for her work as the lyricist in the second dubbing (1995), actually died in 1970. She translated some of the songs of the movie for a LP (earliest trace of this version from 1968), and this version of the lyrics was used in the 1995 dubbing, with additions and modifications from Mats Wänblad.
