Sweden - October 15, 2003 (Special Edition DVD) - Johan Halldén, the voice of young Simba, is the son of Liza Öhman, the Musical director.
- When Monica Forsberg, the dubbing director, cast Rikard Wolff as Scar, Disney US was really against that choice. They sent several different takes to Disney in Burbank, but they didn't like any of them. Monica started to get angry, and the Danish supervising team as well, so Disney told them it would be "at [their] own risks", meaning Monica would not be directing for Disney anymore if the result was not good enough.
During the Malmö Film Festival, where the movie premiered, the original director of the film was there; and eventually praised the Swedish dub.
Source : Monica Forsberg - Rikard Wolff eventually died in 2017 of a pulmonary emphysema, due to a Alpha 1-antitrypsin deficiency. He was 59 years-old.
- Peter Rangmar, the voice of Timon, died on May 24, 1997 due to complications caused by melanoma cancer. He was only 40 years-old. He was part, with Jan Rippe, the voice of Pumbaa, part of the comedy group "Galenskaparna och After Shave".
