- Release dates :
Spain - December 5, 1990 (Latin American Spanish dub)
Spain - June 26, 1998 (European Spanish dub) - Nacho Aldeguer, the voice of Flounder, is the son of Salvador Aldeguer, voice of Flotsam & Jetsam.
- Miguel Ángel Jenner also voiced the role of Chef Louis in the French 1998 dubbing of the movie.
- Santiago Aguirre, the Musical director, and María Caneda, the singing voice of Ariel, are married in real life.
- Just like Aladdin, the European Spanish lyrics of the songs were mostly based upon the Latin Spanish lyrics. Consequently, some lines are the same in both versions.
- The Spanish audience, used to the Latin Spanish dubbing, panned the European dubbing when it was released in 1998. After the disastrous sales of this dubbing in VHS and DVDs, the sequel "The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea" was not dubbed, and Spain used the Latin Spanish dubbing instead.
